Autumn is fast approaching and the days are getting a lot colder here. I’ve been completing my autumn wardrobe and fixing stuff that needs to be fixed. I still need a pair of long leather gloves and some high heeled but comfortable shoes, but otherwise I’m ready for the new season!
Here are some vintage photos to inspire your autumn wardrobes.
Ginger Rogers perfectly dressed for autumn in a sweater and plaid jacket. I love her dance shoe scatter pins! And of course her chunky gold chain bracelet.
Betty Grable wears a houndstooth jacket and some sort of feather hat.
Lucille Ball looks amazing in this early photo and her outfit is the coolest!
This cowgirl getup worn by Dale Evans would be great for autumn. I love the embroidery on the pants.
An anonymous model in a beautiful outfit. I love the colours! Green and pink is one of the best combinations. Also her hair is really lovely.
A super elegant outfit with a spectacular hat, worn by yet another anonymous model.
Loretta Young in a warm dress with matching scarf and hat.
Loretta again in a lovely coat.
I wish I owned this outfit. It looks perfectly warm yet elegant.

Ann Savage in an outfit that would be great for autumn, though you’d have to wear some stockings with those shoes in this climate!
Anne Gwynne’s outfit looks a lot like what I’ve been wearing most of the time lately. Sweaters and wide pants.
I love this masculine outfit on Virginia Mayo. Source: Dr. Macro.
Donna Reed’s outfit looks a bit Christmasy with the red and green, but would work much better for a Swedish autumn than a Swedish winter.
I love this outfit with the pinstriped suit and turban. Unfortunately I have no idea who this is.

Pat Ting Hung in another outfit I wish I owned. Such a bombshell look! Source: Soft Film.
Dorothy Lamour isn’t dressed for autumn, but fashion designer Gladys Parker wears a really great suit. Check out the heart detail on the shoulder! Source: Thetag1.
Yvonne De Carlo certainly isn’t dressed for the season, but I couldn’t resist including this in the autumn post. Source: Thetag1.
