We got back from our California vacation last night, and I just finished sorting through some photos.
Palm Springs was amazing! We stayed at the wonderful Orbit In which was just perfect. Here are a bunch of pictures, and a few Vine videos, from our arrival and first full day.
Waiting for our flight at the Swedish airport.
Leaving LAX.
In our room after arriving. We stayed in the Frey Lounge (overlooking Frey House II) which was the perfect choice. It really seemed like we had the best room at the hotel. We had a fireplace, big sliding glass doors and a private patio with an outdoor shower. The architecture and interior was beautiful.
Listening to records.
I brought some books for poolside reading.
The morning view from the bed. Every morning we woke up to a chorus of tropical birds, and there were hummingbirds on our patio!
Having breakfast by the pool.
Getting ready to go out.
There were some great vintage stuff displayed in the lobby. My favourite was this Kon-Tiki model and I would love to find one for myself.
Everything was so beautiful!
I wore a dress I made myself from my my mother’s old curtains, flea market scarf and belt, Etsy purse and gold sandals I don’t remember where I got.
There were so many beautiful flowers blooming and I loved all the desert plants.
Palm Springs is of course most known for its mid century modern architecture, but there were some gorgeous and sadly neglected art deco buildings as well, and I loved all the Spanish style buildings from the 30s and 40s.
Matching a dog!
You could borrow great books from the lobby, as well as lots of vinyl records for the record player in the room.
The view outside our doors.
Great vintage patio furniture on the private patio.
Patio video.
Henrik on our street.
At La Plaza, a beautiful Spanish style shopping center from the 30s.
