I don’t think I’ve shown this shelf in our hallway on the blog before. I snapped some photos when I was dusting it a while ago.

Some nice packaging, poodle soaps, top hats, dinosaur skeletons and a glamorous severed hand.

One of the best parts about our road trip was finding my favourite She-Ra figure, Catra, at a thrift store! When I entered the store I saw a He-Man figure on a shelf. I love Masters of the Universe but I was not particularly interested in this figure so I left it, but I was kind of hoping there might more.

I was going through a shelf with Barbie and similar dolls very thoroughly without finding anything good, but as I was about to leave I saw something pink and black in the adjoining shelf which I had only quickly looked through since it didn’t seem to contain anything interesting. It was Catra!

So not only did I find another MotU figure, but a She-Ra one (unusual in Sweden, I’ve never seen one at a thrift store before and don’t know anyone who had them when I was a kid), and not only a She-Ra figure but my favourite! Plus, it was even my favourite version, Scratchin’ sound Catra.

I quit my job at Pärlans Konfektyr in June. Wrapping caramels by hand day in and day out was ruining my shoulders and I was hurting all the time, but I was sad to leave my wonderful coworkers. It seems I will be back for a few days in September though, and I’ll probably keep doing the window decorations.

Before I left I took some photos of the signs and various design stuff I’ve made for Pärlans. With the exception of the painted outdoor sign and the stamp, these were all handmade quickly on the fly without reference or planning.

This of course means I’m once again unemployed and poor, so if you have any job ideas I’d very much appreciate it! If you’ve been planning on ordering some of my art, perhaps a commission, now would be an excellent time ;)

A couple of days ago we got back from a road trip through southern Sweden.

When I was a kid my family went on vacation somewhere in Sweden every summer, but Henrik and I have never really traveled in Sweden as grown ups, so I’ve been wanting to do this for a while. I wanted to go on a road trip to see many places, but we had to cut it down to just southern Sweden, and about 6 overnight stops.

Finally, here are the photos from our last day at Disneyland, which was spent at both parks.

The second day at Disneyland Resort we went to California Adventure. I was pretty excited about it since they have changed lots of stuff since I was last there. I was mostly excited about seeing Buena Vista Street, which is supposed to be like a Los Angeles street in the 1920s, lots of beautiful art deco architecture!
